Dr. James M. Wilson
President and Chairman of Board of Directors
Jim is a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania in the Medical School who has been doing research on cystic fibrosis for over 20 years. He is inspired by the commitment of the patients, families, friends and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to finding a cure. He is also impressed by the role exercise can play in improving the quality of life for those living with CF. To Jim, CF is a disease that affects a lot of people and one that he wants to see eliminated.
He has been racing competitively for 10 years. Fitness and the thrill of technical mountain biking is what hooked him on biking initially. His proudest race finish was his very first national ultra-endurance race called the Cohutta 100 in Tennessee, April 2008. Jim was not even sure he would finish in the allotted time and came in 4th with a time of 9 hr 35 min. Before an endurance race Jim’s favorite fuel is oatmeal; during the race, it’s Swedish fish!
When Jim is not on his bike, he enjoys watching his kids grow up.
